About

Hello and welcome! I’m a fine art and commercial photographer, drone pilot, ecologist, and avid outdoor explorer. I don’t just take and share photos, I aim to learn and teach about the natural sciences in the process. My work captures the outdoor world in detail and at scale — from expansive landscapes to the intricate textures found in nature’s hidden corners. I specialize in a range of outdoor genres including landscape, abstract, rural, urban, and wildlife photography, primarily focused on the Appalachian Region of the United States (but sometimes beyond). I offer premium, authentic fine art prints on media such as fine art paper, metal, acrylic, and canvas.
I thrive on storytelling that bridges the grand with the granular. I bring a variety of science-based content with much of my imagery. This includes species identification, natural history, ecology, geological and physical processes, and more. My goal is to create imagery and content that resonates. I invite you to explore my galleries, read the captions, and hopefully find something that you connect with. I believe the right print on the wall has the power to improve your day, every day.

I am active in the local art and business communities around Zanesville, Newark, and Columbus, Ohio. I am a member of the Zanesville Appalachian Art Project, a 501(c)3 non-profit art gallery and artist group. I am a member of the Art Colony of Zanesville (artcoz), an arts community development organization and am also represented by the Elk’s Eye Art Market, a juried artist gallery/retail market with works by 30+ local artists. I am also a Part 107 commercial drone pilot certified by the FAA.

On a personal level, I am a husband and father of 3 boys, Henry, Hudson, and Huck. My wife Candace, the boys, and I live in the country in Southeast Ohio. We enjoy going for hikes, bike rides, sports, and enjoying our swath of the earth at home. We also enjoy occasionally traveling to state and national parks as well as other destinations to vacation and explore (and I sneak away for some landscape photography too). Thanks for stopping by!
