Proper care and maintenance of your fine art print will ensure your piece retains its original beauty for decades to come. Below you will find general instructions for each type of print offered. Paper Prints (Custom Framed and Photographic)
Hang your print in a location that is not subject to direct sunlight if possible. Even if protected by UV-protective glazing, other wavelengths in the light spectrum will fade the print with time. Whatever you do, please don’t spray window glass cleaner on the glass (or acrylic). It is really difficult to “catch” all of the cleaner before it gets to the bottom of the print and when it does so, it can find its way behind the glass to your print. If that happens, the cleaner will leach into the paper and ruin your print. Avoid using anything abrasive including paper towels. Instead, use a soft dry cloth (microfiber works great) or feather duster to clear dust if possible. If cleaner is needed for fingerprints or other substances use an ammonia-free glass cleaner. Sparkle is a common brand and Tru Vue also sells one. There are others out there, just make sure it is ammonia free. Spraying the cleaner onto a microfiber cloth and then cleaning with the cloth is a good practice. DO NOT use alcohol, denatured alcohol, acetone, mineral spirits ,etc. to clean acrylic.
Face-Mounted Acrylic
Hang your print in a location that is not subject to direct sunlight if possible. Even if protected by UV-protective glazing, other wavelengths in the light spectrum will fade the print with time. Use a soft dry cloth (microfiber works great) or feather duster to clear dust if possible. If cleaner is needed for fingerprints or other substances use an ammonia-free glass cleaner. Metal Prints
Hang your print in a location that is not subject to direct sunlight if possible. Even if protected by UV-protective glazing, other wavelengths in the light spectrum will fade the print with time. Do not use anything abrasive including paper towels. Use a soft dry cloth (microfiber works great) or feather duster to clear dust if possible. If cleaner is needed for fingerprints or other substances use a little bit of denatured alcohol or acetone applied to a microfiber cloth.
Canvas Prints
Hang your print in a location that is not subject to direct sunlight if possible. Even if protected by UV-protective glazing, other wavelengths in the light spectrum will fade the print with time. Dust frequently with a feather duster or microfiber cloth regularly to avoid the need for deeper cleaning. If necessary, use a clean damp cloth for a deeper clean and wipe as gently as possible. Don’t soak or spray the print. Don’t hang in damp or humid areas to avoid mold and warping of stretcher bars.
