Autumn American Lotus

Autumn American Lotus: Fading fall American lotus (Nuphar advena) leaves float on an Ohio lake after a late October soaking. They will eventually succumb to the cold weather, falling to the bottom of the lake to serve as food for the lower trophic levels of the food web.
