Belted Kingfisher, Silhouetted: The Belted Kingfisher (Megaceryle alcyon) has an air of self confidence with their spikey head crest and tendency to voice a loud screaming chatter as they fly away, scorning you for interrupting their fishing. They are one of our few bird species where the female is more brightly colored than the male. They are also not usually keen on letting you get too close but this one paused on the communication line long enough for a stoic silhouette.
