Contour Ice Abstract

Contour Ice Abstract: The thick, curved lines formed by ice in puddles and at the edges of still waterbodies (lakes, ponds) are the result of falling water levels under the ice. If you study them you’ll see that they are truly miniature contour lines. Fun for those map enthusiasts out there to figure out what larger geographical features they resemble.
