Highland Mountain Trail

Highland Mountain Trail: A rocky trail lined with fall color highbush blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum) shrubs leads the viewer to a grove of red spruce trees (Picea rubens). The blueberries you get from your garden, farmer’s market, or grocery store are probably this same native species. They feed bears, birds, and other wildlife in many high country wilderness areas before turning fiery red in the fall.
