Red Spruce Sunset: A sunset in the backcountry is tough to beat. You feel like you have the whole thing all to yourself and don’t have to share it with anybody. This photo was taken in a clearing in the Allegheny Mountain high country. Rather than try to capture the whole scene I instead opted to focus on the two elements that really caught my attention: the red spruce skyline and the exploding sunset sky. The panoramic format is very effective at making you feel like you’re in the picture as opposed to just looking at it.
