Normally you want your horizon line to be level. Except for when you don’t. This early morning scene of the Allegheny Mountains was captivating for sure. But I had taken several images of the captivating layered blue mountains and was looking for something different. So I made it a panoramic with a 3:1 aspect ratio and gave it a 45-degree twist. The result is something different and unique. And a conversation piece.
These canvas prints are built with thick, archival-grade canvas and archival inks. They are constructed with bulky 1.5-inch thick wooden stretchers to prevent warping and come with D-rings and hanging wire installed. They have a semi-gloss sheen and the typical textured canvas look.
Canvas prints have an image wrap, mirror wrap, or a solid color wrap. With an image wrap the edges of the photo wrap around the sides and back of the canvas. As a result, some of the photo is “lost” to the edges and back. With a mirror wrap the edges of the photo are mirrored around the edges so the composition on the front isn’t unacceptably compromised. With a solid color wrap the background color of the image is matched. I’ve selected what I feel is the appropriate wrapping approach for each photo and each size.
